I studied church music at the Norwegian State Academy of Music from 1996-2000. In 2003 I graduated with a post-graduate diploma in choral conducting from the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm, Sweden, after two years of studies with professor Anders Eby. My main focus as a musician is in improvisation. Over the years I´ve worked with musicians such as multi-instrumentalists Stian Carstensen, trumpeter Arve Henriksen, violinist Arve Tellefsen, bassplayer Mats Eilertsen, accordionist Frode Haltli and trombone-player/composer John Kenny. As a conductor I have worked with the Swedish Radio Choir, the Norwegian Soloist Choir, Oslo Chamber Choir, The Chamber Choir of The Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm and the norwegian vocal-ensemble Ginnungagap. I have my own project-based vocal ensemble called Cor. We do one or two productions a year, the latest being our co-operation with Peter Phillips, director of the Tallis Scholars, in March 2007. My compositions are largely written for a cappella choir. I received the Edvard-award 2004 by TONO (Norwegian Performing Rights Society) for best vocal composition for my piece Lovesong I. The piece is the first out of three Lovesongs, published by Norsk Musikforlag (N.M.O. |
